Decades of self-help volumes have spent pages and pages on saying here’s THE answer; do what we say and It All Gets Better. And while what they suggest may be right for some people, it’s never right for everyone.

If you’re tired of authors telling you what to do, be or have without taking into account who YOU are to begin with, this is your book. Clean Out Your LifeCloset encourages you to write your own story of change based on your history, your life experiences, and your personal goals.

Author Corbie Mitleid is your guide and mentor, accompanying you on your journey. Discovering how to “get clear” on your purpose, your relationships, and your connection with Spirit allows you to simplify your life, learn the delights of going with the flow, and actually make friends with Stress, that 21st century constant companion.

Through stories, examples, and her unique “Adventure Pages,” you can find your own answers, design your own toolbox, and discover that healing the old and creating the new can be a positive, joyful and soul-satisfying experience.

This book. This book, right here. You need this book. If you've moved to the point of reading reviews, save yourself some time and just order the book. Then start reading, and start working your way through the wise, compassionate advice in here. The author has even left space for you to do that. I really appreciated that.

I have at least two shelves filled with self-help books of one kind or another. I read them all as best I could, tried to apply ideas they offered, wanted to be (or at least become like) the authors. It didn't happen. But this book? Oh, yeah. Corbie Mitleid, an intuitive psychic and Tarot reader, did not write a "this worked for me, now go forth and do what I did, it'll work for you, too!" kind of book. I swear to God/dess, this is more a roadmap and guide book for easier, more fun traveling, not a weighty handbook on stuff-that-worked-for-me. This book is fun to read. It is written in a very engaging manner, with approachable and good-humoured language, never preachy. More like "hey, come take a look at this. Maybe this will help? Have a thought on how to adapt this so it helps!" Corbie draws you in like an old friend and shares experience, ideas, cosmic Stuff, and sooner or later the book and its author become like that buddy you have coffee with to discuss how the cats got into the cabinet, or whether you noticed the flock of gorgeous birds out the back window. And sooner rather than later, when you find you've read your way through the Project, you may well find yourself scribbling notes in the pages, putting post-it flags all over the place, laughing, nodding, catching your breath. OMG someone understands. She gets this, she gets me, OMG.

You might cry through parts of it. I did. When I realised how much the book had to say to me, when I realised that maybe there were others like me, that there was a damned good chance I wasn't some sort of idiot-cum-failure who couldn't suss out Life, the universe and everything, I cried buckets. The cats stared at me and became worried. I threw the book across the room and hid from it for a bit, while my brain ran through the implications of what I was reading. I cried some more, then I went to find the book and apologised to it for being a Philistine. Then I re-read the flagged parts, wrote more notes, and cried my way to laughter and massive relief. I wasn't being asked to turn my world inside-out, climb a mountain and build a hermitage. I was getting suggestions on how to just frigging LIVE, and do it with less Baggage. With all the word entails, emotionally, physically, mentally.

This book changed my life in a big way. I'm not moving mountains yet, but I feel more like I *CAN* when I am ready to, and that a journey really does begin with a single step. Other books have tried to tell me this, but Clean Out Your Lifecloset spoke to me in a practical, down-to-earth, no BS manner. Do you need a reboot that isn't a boot to the head? Do you want, do you need to believe in yourself again? Buy this book. Make your favourite beverage, curl up on the sofa, and start reading. May it be everything to you that it has been to me--and even more.

Note: If you decide to toss the book as I did, because I wasn't ready just at that moment to receive a piece of info that related a little too well in my life? Aim for the door, or a blank wall. The vase didn't deserve to be knocked over. Truly.

Buy the book. Please, for yourself. Buy. The. Book. Then come back here and tell me what you liked best. We'll have tea and use up some tissues, then start clearing out that closet.

I got this book for a gift. After ordering, I was contacted by the author to see if I wanted it inscribed and signed as well! It was an unexpected and appreciated addition! I cannot wait to give it! Corbie is an amazing psychic medium in person!
There is no one's life in this world that can't stand to have improvement. Some years we need a little help, and some years we need it by the truckful.
-
Corbie has, in this audiobook, warmly shared her tips, tricks, and lessons-learned in a warm and delicious, friendly voice that will entertain and enlighten you. If you work along with her simple exercises, I can't see how this book could not help to improve most anyone's life.
-
Dive in, and let the high-grade advice and happy approach to life's challenges improve your world from end to end.
Corbie's book is a rare gem in a sea of often misguided self help books. Unlike most that I have read or reviewed - clean out your life closet assumes that you - the reader- are capable of creating your own strategy- and provides a guided tour to do so. Corbie's witty mastery of words and authentic nature make this a fun book to "work through". My 14 year old read this as well- and keeps it as a reference on her desk for when she is feeling "challenged". The section on clarity is an exceptionally important reminder that we have to stay mindful around our own self care. As a healthcare professional and business owner I refer this book whole heartedly to my staff, clients and HR peers. Can't wait for the next in the series !
The key to Corbie Mitleid’s book is in her dedication to her physician father. She speaks of her love for him, learning her writing craft from him, and how he taught her to be curious about the world. Those gifts run through each chapter of CLEAN OUT YOUR LIFECLOSET.

Mitleid writes in a warm and honest voice about her own learning curve through life. Her four main subjects – clarity, adaptability, simplicity and working with stress – are explored through stories, analogies, and easily grasped exercises that help the reader see what is going on in their life and make new, conscious choices.

Her description of “thinking like a Martian” I found brilliant. When you gain perspective about your own everyday life and view situations as if you were a complete alien to what’s going on, you get out of your own way and consider possibilities you wouldn’t have come up with otherwise.

The best part of this book is that Mitleid doesn’t expect you to do everything precisely as she tells you to. She gives you credit for having your own ideas, your own life path. She acknowledges that some of her ideas will work for you, and some won’t – and she is perfectly okay with that. Mitleid trusts her readers to be able to find their own comfortable level of self-growth and self-development, and is always with them as a cheerleader and champion, believing in her readers’ abilities even as they discover them for themselves.

I’ve bought a several self-help books over the years. Sometimes they work for a little while, and then I put them away. This is one that I’ll keep by my bedside for a long time and will revisit as needed.
Corbie Mitleid's book "Clean Out Your LIfeCloset" is truly a self-help book in the truest sense. While most books that advice you on how to make your life better just tell you what to do, Corbie teaches the reader how to "do it yourself" and turns your loose. We all have it in ourselves to be the best person we can be and this book teaches how to strip away the unneeded clutter (whether it is possessions, habits, or people) to clear the way to a life lived to the fullest. I understand that this is the first book in a series of three and it has whet my appetite for the next ones. Thank you, Corbie for sharing your wise, beautiful and funny outlook on life!
